On Becoming a Professional Photographer

by Brittany Horton on June 23, 2008

In May of 2008, I had my debut exhibition at the Cora Stafford Gallery at the University of North Texas. The exhibition featured 19 seniors in the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program majoring in Photography. I prepared my display of 5 18×24 pieces, for weeks before the show. The show was open for one week, during which it received hundreds of visitors. The turnout was astounding.

This experience has allowed me to further my professional experiences by giving me an understanding of what it takes in the “real world.” I learned as I prepared for the show, the conducted marketing for the exhibition, and handled an audience of that size. I feel that I am more of a professional photographer after this experience. Not only have I published multiple photographs, and won awards, my art has been exhibited!

I use my professional photography experiences for Content Solutions as much as possible. We welcome you to contact us and talk with us about your photography needs and how we can help you achieve your goals through photography.
